General Forum Rules & Etiquette
Welcome to Mudflap Media — we’re glad you’re here. This forum exists to share knowledge, swap stories, ask questions, and occasionally argue over the right way to do something. To keep things running smooth, here are a few simple ground rules.

Nothing extreme. Nothing corporate. Just common sense.

1. Don’t Be a Jerk
You don’t have to agree with everyone. In fact, disagreement is encouraged.
Personal attacks, harassment, racism, hate speech, or threats are not.

Argue ideas. Not people.

2. Keep It Legal
If it’s illegal, sketchy, or clearly against the law — don’t post it.
That includes piracy, stolen content, doxxing, or anything that could put the forum (or its members) at risk.

3. Stay (Mostly) On Topic
Try to post in the correct category and keep threads relevant.
A little side-tracking is normal — completely derailing a thread is not.

If you’re not sure where something belongs, do your best. Mods will handle the rest.

4. No Spam or Self-Promotion Abuse
We get it — you have a project, a channel, a product, or a business.

Occasional, relevant sharing is fine.
Drive-by spam, referral dumps, or nonstop self-promotion is not.

If your post exists only to promote something, it probably doesn’t belong.

5. Respect Experience Levels
Everyone here started somewhere.
Newbies should feel comfortable asking questions.
Veterans should remember what it was like not knowing the basics.

Help when you can. Scroll past when you can’t.

6. Use Clear Titles and Descriptions
“Help please!!!” tells nobody anything.
Clear titles = better answers = less frustration.

Future readers will thank you.

7. Report Problems — Don’t Escalate Them
If someone’s breaking the rules, report the post and move on.
Public meltdowns, call-out threads, and flame wars just make more work for everyone.

Moderators exist for a reason.

8. Moderator Decisions Are Final
Mods are human. They’ll make judgment calls.
You’re welcome to ask questions or appeal politely — but arguing moderation decisions in public threads won’t help your case.

Final Thought
Mudflap Media is meant to feel like a good conversation at a truck stop, shop, or coffee table — not a courtroom and not a kindergarten.

Use common sense. Treat people like people.
If you wouldn’t say it face-to-face, maybe rethink hitting “Post.”

Thanks for being part of the community.
